The Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2025, held at the DWTC from April 28 to May 1, reinforced Dubai’s position as a global hub for innovation in travel, tourism, and hospitality. This year’s edition featured over 2,300 exhibitors from more than 165 countries and attracted 55,000 visitors, a significant increase from the 33,000 attendees at the 2024 edition.

As the UAE aims to become a global leader in AI, the 2025 edition witnessed a 25% increase in Travel Tech exhibitors who showcased next-generation solutions powered by artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), and machine learning. These technologies promise to revolutionize the travel journey from customized travel planning to real-time flight disruption updates and immersive hotel experiences.

Major players like Amadeus, WebBeds, and WEGO exhibited AI-driven platforms supporting personalized experiences for travelers. At the same time, W Dubai – The Palm showed AR-enhanced guest engagement tools blending art, design, and interactivity.

Travel Technology Trends 2025

With the global travel technology market projected to hit $18.6 billion by 2033, interest is rising in AI-driven personalization and data-based travel solutions. In 2025, Dubai is emerging as a leading hub for AI startups, attracting entrepreneurs and SMEs drawn by its tax-free environment and long-term growth potential. Meanwhile, Dubai AI Week 2025 showcased the city’s rapid strides in innovation, while G42’s AI talent recruitment report underscored the rising appeal for talent, investment, and innovation.

Rising Wellness Tourism in the UAE

The UAE’s wellness tourism sector is experiencing robust growth, driven by increasing health consciousness and government initiatives. The wellness tourism market in the UAE is projected to grow by 14% from 2024 to 2029, largely due to economic growth, rising population, higher disposable incomes, and the UAE’s strategic position as a global tourism hub. In addition, the recently concluded Gulfood 2025 showcased demand for plant-based, organic, and healthy products in the UAE.

Innovative wellness offerings are also emerging in the UAE. High-end wellness resorts are integrating longevity centers, cryotherapy, and hydrotherapy facilities to meet growing demand for holistic health experiences in Dubai and the UAE. Corporate wellness programs are also gaining momentum in the UAE, with 88% of companies planning to boost investment, citing strong ROI for businesses and investors.

The UAE’s digital health and wellness market is projected to reach nearly US$200 million by the end of 2024, with a projected CAGR of 7.6% from 2024 to 2029. This growth is fueled by the adoption of virtual fitness classes, wellness apps, and telemedicine platforms. The event also emphasized the growth of sports and entertainment tourism, with the sector projected to reach US$1.33 trillion by 2032. The UAE is capitalizing on this trend, hosting numerous international events that attract global audiences. Dubai has also launched a sports and entertainment free zone, offering licenses in areas like sports management, events, and media. It also supports emerging sectors such as AI-driven sports tech, e-sports, and fan tokens.

Medical Tourism Growth in the UAE

The UAE’s medical tourism sector is also experiencing significant growth, with projections indicating it will surpass US$2 billion by 2033. This growth is driven by the integration of AI and the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), which has enhanced healthcare services and patient experiences.

Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) continues to offer medical treatments and wellness programs. The facility attracts a diverse international clientele, with the most popular treatments including infertility treatments, cosmetic surgeries, and dental care. Likewise, in the Dubai WHX Arab Health 2025 Expo, the UAE also signalled a shift from treatment to prevention, with a strong focus on AI, wellness, and genomics being key parts of the country’s healthcare strategy.

Dubai Tourism Statistics 2025

Driven by various initiatives, Dubai is witnessing a robust tourism growth in 2025, attracting about 5.31 million international visitors in Q1 alone, following approximately 18.72 million arrivals in 2024. Western Europe leads Dubai’s tourism market with 20% of visitors, followed by South Asia at 17% and the Gulf region at 15%. Russia, the CIS, and Eastern Europe contribute 14%, while MENA accounts for 11% and North/Southeast Asia 10%. The Americas, Africa, and Australasia add 6%, 5%, and 2% respectively, reflecting Dubai’s broad global appeal. The Dubai Loop project, in partnership with Elon Musk, will further enhance transport infrastructure and bolster its tourism efforts.
