Dubai – The 42nd edition of GITEX Technology week recently concluded at the Dubai World Trade Centre to unite international hi-tech industry innovators and global investors. The event received an overwhelming reception with more than 1,400 exhibitors and 138,000 visitors. GITEX Technology Week 2022 – Key Highlights

GITEX Technology Week featured the public takeoff and landing of the fifth-generation Chinese Xpeng X2 ‘Flying Car’ in Dubai. The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) recently announced the launch of the third generation of UAE passports. Residents who wish to apply for a new Emirates ID or want to renew their cards will soon be able to do so without having to leave their homes. 

A new version of the Dubai Police smart application was launched that supports seven languages and provides 70 advanced services using the latest programming languages, algorithms and techniques. UAE’s telecom operator du has partnered with Huawei and SINOTRANS to deliver 5G-driven robot warehouse solutions for the UAE’s logistics industry. The MoU was signed at the Gitex event, where du is presenting under the theme ‘Powering governments, Shaping The Emirates Reality’ featuring technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), augmented reality, metaverse, blockchain, NFT and robotics.
