Dubai Economic Plan: AED 25 Billion Investment Incentive Unveiled

The Executive Council has approved the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Dubai Economic Plan aiming to attract Dh 650 billion (USD 177 billion) in foreign investments by 2033. This initiative is a key component of Dubai’s D33 economic agenda, which seeks to position the emirate among the top three global economic hubs.

The program will allocate Dh 25 billion (USD 6.8 billion) over the next ten years to support the objectives of the D33 economic agenda. This substantial investment is designed to reinforce Dubai’s economic model and enhance its attractiveness to international investors.

Economic Model and Performance Measurement

In addition to the investment program, the Dubai Economic Model was introduced. This model will utilize over 3,000 performance indicators to monitor the emirate’s economic progress against its development targets. The model will provide an integrated framework, featuring interactive dashboards and policy impact assessment reports. It will enable decision-makers to make informed, data-driven decisions.

Enhancing Global Competitiveness

The FDI Development Programme aims to highlight Dubai’s unique competitive advantages, including its advanced logistics infrastructure, strategic geographical location, and robust talent pool. The program is also focused on supporting the expansion of existing international companies operating in Dubai, further solidifying the emirate’s position as a leading global commercial hub. It is worth mentioning that Dubai’s economy demonstrated robust growth of 3.2% in Q1 2024 as the Dubai GDP grew by Dh 115 billion (USD 31.3 billion).
