Dubai Entertainment Amusement & Leisure Show
Dubai Entertainment Amusement & Leisure (DEAL) Show is one of the largest amusement and leisure trade show in the world excluding USA. The event conducted by Middle East & North Africa Leisure & Attraction Council (MENALAC) provided an effective and unparalleled platform and gathered exhibitors, buyers, and professionals from the international amusement and entertainment industry.
The 24th edition of Dubai Entertainment Amusement & Leisure took place at Dubai World Trade Center from 9th April to 11th April 2018. More than 8,000 quality trade visitors participated in the event with approximately 315 brands and exhibitors across 40 countries displaying their products and services. The show brought together great minds and their world class innovations in the amusement and entertainment industry during the 3 days and the exhibitors in the event signed multi-million dollar contracts that reshape the region’s entertainment industry.
Dubai Entertainment Amusement & Leisure Show – Event Highlights
The event was inaugurated by Mr. Buti Saeed Al Ghandi Managing Director of Al Ghandi Investment Co. Several organizations from different sectors such as Gaming, Electronics, Amusement Rides, Safety & Security, IT, Theatrical Equipment & Supply, Entertainment, Museums, Tourist Attractions and much more showcased their products and services. More than 30 per cent of the exhibitors were new to the event. Some of the new major exhibitors in the event are listed below

The organizations had an opportunity to display their latest technologies and developments in the event that attracted the investor’s attention. According to the post event reports, Virtual Reality (VR) based games and Active Entertainment based concepts were the major attractions in the event. Some of the other major cutting-edge technologies that were displayed were 9D park rides, 12D cinemas, family entertainment centre equipment as well as a large range of creative concepts.
A survey was conducted among the exhibitors in indicated the following:
93% of the exhibitors felt their objective of generating sales at the show was met.
90% of the exhibitors felt their objective of launching new products at the show was met.
90% of the exhibitors rated their overall participation at the show as good and excellent.
88% of exhibitors rated the quality of visitors to the show as good and excellent.
Investment Opportunities in Dubai and UAE Tourism Sector
According to the Industry report published by Middle East & North Africa Leisure & Attraction Council (MENALAC), the amusement and leisure industry was valued at Dh 118 billion by 2017 with an annual growth rate of 4.7 per cent.
Global amusement and leisure organizations have started investing in Dubai and UAE, due to the huge growth potential the region possess. Reports also suggest that there is a 30 per cent annual increase in the exhibitors that participate in DEAL. The primary reason for the increasing interest in the region is due to the of the exponential growth of the tourism sector in UAE and Dubai.
The tourism industry is among the fastest growing sectors in Dubai and also has a significant contribution to UAE’s GDP. By 2017, the total contribution of the travel and tourism industry of UAE was around Dh 168 billion (12 per cent of total GDP) with an annual growth rate of 4.9 per cent. Dubai welcomed 15.7 million visitors by the end of 2017 which was a 6.2 per cent increase compared to previous year. By 2017 it was estimated that more than 24 million passengers had a transit flight in UAE. Because of this highly inflow of passengers the government of Dubai provides a transit visa for 96 hours in the emirate. This is also expected to contribute to the growth of tourism sector.
With Expo 2020, Dubai’s initiatives to promote medical tourism and other major events that are lined up in UAE, the total number of visitors are expected to reach 25 million by 2020. The increasing number of tourists, makes the region highly profitable for investments in Entertainment Amusement and Leisure sector.
